Joe Campbell - Biography
Joe Campbell is a music composer and producer.
He spent his early life in South Yorkshire where he developed an interest in jazz and classical music. This led to him spending his National Service with the Band of the Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) playing clarinet. He also studied double bass, in London, with Ernie Ineson.
After this he joined the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra as a double bass player. He then moved to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra before accepting a position, again on double bass, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO).
During his orchestral career he developed a keen interest in the application of music within film and television projects, and his own compositions began to enjoy commercial success, notable among his early work is the music for Roger Hargreaves TV series 'The Mr Men'.
In 1979, along with Paul Hart, he formed the company 'Joe & Co' to specialise in producing and composing music for advertising, film and television.
